FAQ
How long does it take to set-up a health screening clinic?
We typically like at least 30 days advance notice for a clinic. This gives ample time for us to set up staff and supplies and for companies to get the word out to employees.
Where would the screening take place?
The screening would take place on-site at each company location.
Can screenings be done at the same time as flu shot clinics?
Yes, it is common to have flu shots and screenings at the same clinic.
Can we schedule clinics at our other company locations?
Yes, we can schedule flu and health screening clinics at your different locations. We just ask that you have a 20 person minimum (some exceptions may apply).
How do I promote my health screening clinic at my company?
After your clinic is scheduled, you will receive a flyer to print and post at several locations around your company. It is suggested that the flyer be posted at least 2-3 weeks before the clinic takes place.
Do my employees need to make appointments?
You will be given a sign-up sheet to schedule appointments for screenings. It is very important that people sign-up for a time as this helps keep things moving smoothly at clinics and ensures people are not waiting in long lines.
How long would the screenings take (each or as a group)?
Screenings typically take about 15 minutes per person. We usually schedule 2 people every 15 minutes. For very large clinics we can bring in more staff or schedule a 2-day clinic. Only one venous blood draw is needed for cholesterol, thyroid, liver, PSA, diabetes/glucose tests.
How do you provide consistent service to all of our different business locations?
Each of our teams of nurses and coordinators are trained using the same policies and procedures. We use the same lab and screening tests for each clinic location. When we get the results, the same supervising physician looks over all of the results. All procedures and communication are directed out of our main office in Boise, Idaho.
Would clinics be scheduled during working hours?
We are available any time the company would like. Having an on-site clinic during a company's working hours is the purpose of our service - to provide a convenient no-hassle clinic for employees and employers. We can also accommodate evening and weekend clinics. We typically like to come first thing in the morning because a few of the tests require that people fast.
What do I need to bring the day of the clinic?
Insurance card and photo ID are required at the time of the clinic. If we are not billing insurance, please bring a form of payment if self-paying. We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards and checks.
What is the benefit of a preventative screening?
Preventative screenings are the best way to uncover unseen medical concerns and avoid health problems later in life. Many problems detected with preventative care have little or no symptoms.
Can I eat or drink before the screening?
It is recommended, but not required, that you fast four hours prior to your screening. Eating or drinking before the screen can skew the results, however we are still able to do the screenings if you have not fasted.
How private is the screening area?
Preventative Health is HIPAA compliant and your privacy is important to us. Our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible during the screening process. Any special needs of a company can be met at your request.
How long does it take to get my results?
Results are mailed to you within 1-2 weeks of the screening.
What if my results show unhealthy results?
If any of your results are in a dangerous range, our supporting physician will follow up with you in order to provide medical support and attention.
How do I know if my insurance company covers the services?
Most insurance plans cover preventative screenings due to the affordable health care act passed earlier this year. We are happy to contact your insurance for you to verify your benefits.
Is there cost to the company or employee or is it billed directly through the benefit plan?
There would be no cost to the company or employee. We will bill your insurance plan directly and there is no co-pay or deductible. For those not on the company insurance plan, we can invoice the company or individuals can self-pay at the time of the clinic. We can also verify coverage of another insurance plan for those not on the company's insurance plan. This must be done at least a week prior to the clinic, as we have no way of verifying benefits at the clinic.
What if the screenings aren't covered by my insurance?
We have a set price for all of our services. We are happy to invoice the employer with the charges or collect individually from the employee at the time of service. Please contact us for specific pricing.
Does Medicare cover health screenings?
Health screenings and flu shots are a covered benefit under Medicare with no copay or deductible.
